Community guidelines

These guidelines apply to the Vedoki developer community — the engineering spaces run by Blowtrumpet for its own engineers, its contractors and consultants, candidates in technical programmes, and invited technical collaborators. They sit alongside Blowtrumpet’s Community Guidelines, which apply across every property.

This is a closed technical community. Membership is by invitation or by engagement with Blowtrumpet.

What this community is for

Working through engineering problems in the open: architecture, verification, scale, data modelling, security and the design constraints we work under. Reviewing each other’s thinking. Helping candidates and new joiners find their feet. Arguing about the right answer before it is built rather than after.

What we encourage

Say when you think something is wrong, including when a founder built it. Show your reasoning, not just your conclusion. Write it down where the next person will find it. Ask the basic question — somebody else needed it asked. Credit other people’s work precisely.

Confidentiality

This is the rule that matters most here.

Nothing from this community leaves it. Architecture, code, data models, decisions, incidents and anything you see through an authorised account are Blowtrumpet confidential information. Do not post it elsewhere, discuss it publicly, include it in a portfolio, paste it into an external tool or service, or take it with you when your engagement ends.

Do not bring other people’s confidential material in. If you are bound by an obligation to a previous employer or client, keep it. We do not want it and we will not accept it.

No production or personal data in examples. Use synthetic data. Always.

Security findings go to security@blowtrumpet.com first, not into a public thread.

Professional conduct

No harassment, intimidation, personal attacks or hate speech. Disagree with the design, not the person. No gatekeeping or dismissiveness toward people with less experience — this community exists partly to bring people in. Respect that candidates in technical programmes are being assessed and are entitled to the same courtesy as anyone else. No recruitment of members for other organisations.

Use of AI tools

Use them, and disclose when generated code or text is substantially the work of a tool. Never paste Blowtrumpet code, data or confidential material into an external AI service that is not approved for it.

Enforcement

Depending on severity: a conversation, a warning, removal from the community, suspension of system access, action under your employment or engagement agreement, or escalation to the authorities. Confidentiality breaches are treated at the most serious end.

Appeals are reviewed by a panel including someone outside the reporting line, and the outcome is documented and shared with you.
